Alan Cline
Dramatic Baritone

Alan Cline is a Dramatic Baritone currently living and working in the greater Pittsburgh area. He has appeared on stages across the country and in Europe in opera, theater, concert, and recital. Some of his recent credits include Gianni Schicchi with the Bay View Association, Rigoletto and Don Carlo with Pittsburgh Festival Opera, Carmen with Opera Naples, Tosca and La Traviata with Finger Lakes Opera, Gianni Schicchi and Rigoletto with Si parla, si canta and Cosi fan tutte with Midsummer Night’s Opera. Frequently seen on the competition stage, Cline is the recent winner of the Irma Cooper prize at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards in New York City and a former national Semi-Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Competition (now Laffont) twice winning the Pittsburgh District and the Great Lakes Region. He holds a Bachelors of Music degree from West Liberty University, a Masters of Music from the Eastman School of Music, and is completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at West Virginia University. Additionally, he serves as Adjunct Instructor of Voice at West Virginia Wesleyan College. He also maintains a large private studio at C.A. House Music in St. Clairsville. In the past year, Alan and duet partner Lucas Barkley appeared in recital performing Schubert’s Winterreise and at Carnegie Mellon University as co-winners of the Pittsburgh Concert Society Major Auditions. He currently resides with his wife in Wheeling, WV.
